The Botanical Gardens are a wonderful place to relax in the summer sun whilst in Copenhagen.
The gardens belong to the University of Copenhagen and were moved to their current site in 1870. In 1874 Carl Jacobsen, of Calsberg brewing fame, funded the building of the 27 fabulous glass greenhouses which house the many plants.
The gardens are used for research purposes as well as being open to the public and the collection boasts more than 13,000 species of botanical life. My sister and I had a wonderful time perusing the fantastic collections and taking in the picturesque scenery.
