The Fading Flower

Written By Unknown on Friday, 19 September 2014 | 05:38

Imagine yourself stood alone…at the centre stage of a crowded field, surrounded by an everlasting visual of colourful wildflowers. You stare out into the distance to try and see beyond, but the hazy glow of the sunlight blinds you. You lie amongst the flowers, breathe in the poignant fragrance and slowly start to fall asleep…when a dove comes to rest beside you. He does not do or say anything, but you are comforted by his presence.

There is this fragile flower…this tiny bud of life, that blossoms inside each of us. Each petal a new chapter in the cycle of life that connects to the centre soul of this pure living thing.
Look closer and you see its journey, the map of where it’s been and what it’s had to endure to exist in todays present. Soon enough this map will over take the bud as it weaves around the stem and turns the soul into an imprint of memories.

This tender flower doesn’t last forever, but it lives inside all of us…it feels the things we feel, endures the battles we endure and grows along with us.One day this flower will dissolve away, but look close enough and you will see the beauty of this once blossoming flower still lives on- its sweet fragrance just a little less poignant and its colours…just a little more faded.
