The Last Leg

Written By Unknown on Tuesday, 30 September 2014 | 01:15

Before I step back out on the road to complete the last leg of my journey to Seattle, I sit writing this blog post, sipping my morning cup of caffeinated sanity. I’ve been on the road for over a month, enjoying the opportunities to reacquaint with past friends and visit these cities and towns with an intimacy that allows for a healthy perspective on what each location has to offer (I will go into more detail as to what I did in each, at a later date).

It’s been fun, eye-opening, exciting, and [sometimes] scary. All of which acted as a positive detour from the stresses and discomforts involved in traveling across half the country with minimal resources. It’s surreal to look back on this past month and attempt to grasp the quality of time I’ve been able to experience, something I’m sure I will reminisce over during this next day-long drive.

Before the sun set’s this evening, I will be in Seattle. Correction: I should be in Seattle. If everything goes as planned, I should be arriving in Seattle by mid-evening. Things have yet to go as planned, so I would be crazy to believe the likelihood of additional problems have been left in the past. I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion, the hurdles are as expected as the rising sun. And it’s this expectation that may provide me with a continued sanity that keeps me pressing forward with as cool a head as possible.
