This morning after breakfast we set out to explore the Water of Leith Walkway. The body of water is a good size stream, maybe 30 feet across where the walkway begins, very near our B&B. Not surprisingly, one has to walk down a stairway to reach the walkway, which is well above the water level. At the start there were houses whose gardens abutted the stream bank on the other side. We were passed by a few joggers, a lot of dog walkers and one cyclist.
Fairly soon vegetation was dense on both sides of the stream; at one point Ann thought she saw evidence of a cemetery up above us, but we didn’t explore. We probably walked a little over a mile before we decided to seek civilization again. This gives you an idea of what we were leaving behind.
