I had only heard great things about Prague so I was a little worried I would be expecting too much from the city. How wrong I was…Prague is in the Czech Republic, it has it’s own money (Czech koruna) and does not accept euros for anyone looking to pay Prague a visit.
In prague I stayed at PLUS Prague. PLUS hostels are in various locations around Europe and are good value. This hostel has it’s own pool and sauna as well. When I arrived I also was given free toiletry samples that came in a PLUS hostel bag on the bed. It was a nice taste of luxury after traveling in hostels for a while.
The first night I was in Prague I went out with some friends while they had dinner. We found this restaurant that was underground just about and had unique decor. It was lit up with candles and lanterns while the hallway was lined with antlers and hunting type memorabilia. There was live music and singing and the restaurant had a great vibe. Prague at night was very beautiful. The town square, castle and Charlie bridge were among my favourite at night.
While in prague I did the free city walking tour which leaves just outside of the town square and saw the major sites that Prague has to offer as well as hear about the Czech history.I also was able to walk to the Prague castle and get a panoramic view of the city. Unfortunately i was unable to see the families Prague astronomical clock do it thing on the hour however I did visit it.
