All our kids wanted this year was a trip to the beach. Instead, we decided to drag them across country and throw in a few days on a few lakes and call it a beach!
Ruthie, however, thought it was one of the most wonderful parts of the trip. She very much enjoyed walking the expanse of sandy beach. With her tropical feeling dress she almost felt like she was in the Caribbean instead of at frozen Lake Michigan. Okay, the lake wasn’t frozen (anymore), but the water was frigid.After enjoying a lovely walk and some lunch Ruthie decided to do a little sunbathing. She was fully prepared with sunglasses and a beach bag full of supplies.
However, even in Michigan the sun can get too warm. Ruthie decided to cool off with a little dip in the lake. Just her toes…it was much too cold for more than that.Despite the warm day time sun, the evening turned cool and Ruthie changed into her campground clothes. She headed back out to the beach on last time to enjoy a beautiful sunset over the lake. What a day at the beach it was!
