Saved by his Master

The soldier. His name is servant, ambassador, and messenger. His master is the King of all kings and the soldier to trying to do his master’s bidding by delivering a message. To do so, he must walk the long, thin road up the mountain and through death’s valley. The soldier’s armor shines and reflects an unknown, blinding light. This armor the soldier wears, is a gift from his master.

Boots of Peace: Wherever he walks, he brings joy, comfort, and glad tidings. Breastplate of Righteousness: Such righteousness protects the heart and all of that is vital to this man’s body. Belt of Truth: The truth, the only way to life, it holds everything else together. Helmet of Salvation: This identifies the man and protects the most important part of him. Shield of Faith:

An unmovable and unbreakable object between evil, and oneself as long as it is always raised. Faith that protects everything else from all danger, worry, evil, and sin. The soldier was warned to always have it raised above his head and to never let his guard down. Sword of the Spirit: A razor-sharp weapon so filled with power and might, it can slash through any enemy, but it must be used carefully and should never be used for any wrongdoing.

The soldier now walks through the valley. There’s only one problem…he does not have his shield ready. His guard is down. Out of nowhere the enemy rises from either side of the valley and fires a barrage of fiery arrows. The soldier sees the arrows coming, raises his shield, and they all bounce off his shield of faith…except for one. One arrow has pierced his thigh. He bleeds; the soldier is wounded. Another barrage, and an arrow meets its mark in the soldiers hip.
