“Keep close to Nature’s heart… and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean”. -John Muir.
Two years ago, my Dad and I did a seven-day hike through Vanoise National Park in the French Alps. It was a magnificent trip with stunning scenery of jagged mountains, wildflowers and gorgeous views. Hiking is one of my absolute favorite pastimes. I love zigzagging up and down the mountain, breathing in the fresh, pure air and marveling at the incredible beauty of our world.
For me, hiking is a way to relax, reflect and simply enjoy all the highs and lows of life. I love it and wish I could do it more. Here are a few photos of one of my favorite hikes we did in Vanoise National Park. The hike to Refuge de la Dent Parrachee where we spent the night. I have written at length on all the hikes we did in Vanoise National Park, however, this one stood out as one of the best.
How glorious a greeting the sun gives the mountains.n every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks. The power of imagination makes us infinite.Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul. And at last….after all the zigzagging up and down the mountain trail we come to our refuge for the night.
And with a stunning reward. This post was inspired by the Weekly Photo Challenge: Zigzag. To see more entries, click here. To read more posts on my hiking trip to Vanoise National Park, click here.
