Once again I was convinced that planning may be a good thing, but in my case spontaneous stuff works better. I had so many doubts about comming to this city. I had a ride from Lille to Paris, who would think to stop in a small town like Amiens? Well, my curiosity has taken over me.
The day when I arrived there was quite rainy (as almost every day I spent in the North of France). But now I miss “European summer weather” back in Ukraine a lot. Having read about Amiens and its floating gardens in my French manuel I thought it would be cool to see this place on my own. Especially when I was so close to it, on my way to Paris. How mistaken I was…It was not cool at all… It was wonderful, marvelous and just fantastic!!
The first surprise for me was to see Russian church women (sorry, i m not sure how to call them in English) selling souvenirs in Amiens Cathedral. Then the Cathedral itself shocked me.
