Medina’s experience

Written By Unknown on Wednesday, 17 September 2014 | 02:55

After recovering from the cultural shock of Tunisia, it is time to get lost in the Medina quarter. The name Medina means itself ‘city’ or ‘town’ in modern day Arabic and it consists of a huge commercial complex, commonly being the heart of the locality. Inside it one will always find the main Mosque and a bustling day-by-day life. The Medina is the first must-see sightseeing in every muslim town.

However, take some time of inner preparation before adventuring yourself there. Usually protected from car traffic, this complex can offer you a real experience of squeezing and squashing and wringing through narrow streets full of little markets. Don’t get me wrong, you will love it! Imagine yourself in the cheapest everything-you-ever-thought-to buy oasis. And you even have sections for it! Yes, it is organised.. food market, fish market, clothes and accessories market, appliances and electronic market, traditional clothes…
