Today was the easiest stage of the entire tour with only 103km between Royan and Bordeaux. On top of that, the roads were pretty much flat so we were looking to get some decent speeds and arrive before 2pm.
In fact, we managed to arrive at 1.30pm, before Camilla and Sara. It only took us 5 hours to do the entire distance with an average kph in the mid 20s. To put things into perspective, our previous fastest average speed including all the food and wee breaks was only 16kph.
After this point, we were on a high. With only two more stages to do, what could possibly go wrong? Just a quick reminder for the audience, we still haven’t had a puncture yet and if we get one, we would be in a spot of bother because our only knowledge of changing inner tubes is when James was shown how to do it once when he was eleven and I watched a video on how to do this on YouTube a couple of months ago. Anyway, how difficult could it be?
