“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes.” – Marcel Proust

On the border of Ontario and Quebec lies Ottawa, the capital of Canada. Although my visit only lasted merely two days, I was able to discover many of Ottawa treasures. The city was full of historic landmarks, breathtaking sights, and friendly people. The serene atmosphere greatly contrasted with the noise and fast-pace of Toronto life. It was truly a different Canadian experience, and I would revisit in a heartbeat. While the post serves to document my trip, I would like to share my opinion on the attractions we visited and restaurants suggestion as well for future travelers or any adventurer around the world.

We were fortunate to not face much traffic during our five-hour drive from Toronto to Ottawa. Similar to many American rest areas, the highway we took had ON Route, which are rest areas with a gas station, tents for farmers market, and a large glass buildings with bathrooms and fast food counters. The ON Route serves as a one stop for recharging, and I found it to be very convenient since they are spaced out evenly on the highway.
