Days of Fooding: Where to Go in Perth’s Swan Valley

So you’re in Swan Valley near Perth. Where do you go?Here is a family friendly itinerary (and a few more pics of what I ate today). We had breakfast at McDonald’s, or Macca’s, as it is known here.I’ve only had the Mighty McMuffin here in Australia. The stuff that a junk food lover’s dreams are made of. Tee hee.

Drive around a bit. Stop at a vineyard (or two, or three!) if you fancy it. There are loads to choose from and they are easily accessible. We tried a beer sampler at Feral Brewery.I have always been partial to pale ales, but surprisingly, I didn’t like the pales as much as the darks.Numbers 4, 5 and 6 were pretty good. They were smooth and full-bodied.Not in photo is the watermelon-flavored beer I was dying to try. That one was the worst of the lost I have to say. I’m so glad it wasn’t a full beer glass or I wouldn’t have been able to finish it.

We ordered this lovely chorizo appetizer. I believe it was cooked in beer. The greens were also good. Would definitely order again.I bought two slices of cheese from The Cheese Barrel and some crackers. I chose a French brie and a red cheese from Australia. Both were decent cheeses.I bought a Rose from the adjacent Olive Farm wines. The white I tried there was also good.
