Going to Paris – Looking into the future.

Twenty-five days from now my cute boyfriend will fly to Italy for about thirteen days, and while he will be here I will finally turn 18. Usually, to celebrate the coming of age, Italian teenagers organize a big party, with lots of people, drinks, music and what not. But since my birthday almost coincide with our first anniversary, and I don’t really like to party, I decided to ask my mum if we could just give up the whole celebration thing and use the money to go on a two days trip to Paris instead, which is probably more expensive than the party anyway but as my mother says, traveling memories are a kind of good that nobody can take away from you.

So I skyped her (at the time I was still in China) and asked her if that could be my birthday gift. She just said: “two days aren’t nearly enough to visit Paris. I suggest you go at least three days, if not five.” Then we proceeded to look for the hotel, find a cheap flight and that’s how Harvey and I are going to Paris. Alone.

I will write a blog about it in about a month, but today what I want to talk about is how much organizing a trip together shows people’s nature. In this case, our nature and how we work together.
