Journey to a New Island

Sunday morning brought the start of something new.New Island. New adventures. New condo.

I helped Mallory and Andrew finish packing up all of our belongings and loading them into Blue Betty for the drive to the rental car lot. The rental car humans drove us to the airport where we boarded Island Airlines to hop from Maui to Oahu in a short 35 minute flight in a propeller plane. The take off and landing were a bit bumpy and Andrew needed to hold both Mallory and my hands as we were very nervous, but we got there safe and sound.

Once we landed we hopped on the shuttle bus and were driven to Alamo to pick up our car. Mallory noticed that other people who were in line before us were being enticed and persuaded to “up” their car to a more expensive car. To me, a car is a car. I’d much prefer to spend my hard-earned Carny money on a new dye job for my multi-coloured fur… but that’s just me. Mallory and Andrew mutually decided that they would NOT change the car they ordered. They wanted to spend their money elsewhere as well. We all walked up to the counter, gave the name Smith and we were told that we were booked for an Economy level car. “Great!” said Mallory. And then the game started.
