Summer’14 : The Historical Country of Turkey

Summer has come already and soon it will pass. But for me, my summer holiday is already gone and I welcome the new semester in college. Just a week ago for about 8 days I spent my summer holiday in all over Turkey!

Each day for 8 days we changed hotel and city so we could see every part of Turkey, I must say it was very tiring especially the drive took us 4 to 5 hours and there was even one time that took us 10 hours straight! What we had seen most of them were ruins, like the remains of the goddess of Athens, the God of Zeus and even Hercules. Was it supposed to be in Greek? Yup! Part of Turkey was actually Greek but then Turkey took over when the war happened years ago. These are located at Canakale.

Well actually the first place that I visited was the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul, it was the prettiest mosque I’ve ever seen. It is opened to all people even as visitors not as Muslim. But you must wear clothes that cover all part of your body especially women, but don’t worry, if you wear shorts or skirts, people over there would give a piece of fabric to cover you up.

Just across the blue mosque, there is the famous Hagia Sophia mosque. It was exactly a building that contains both Islam and Christianity. It was used to be church but then turned into mosque. But all the symbols of Christianity are still there like the pictures of Jesus and Maria. You cannot take pictures there because the symbols inside there were so old that the flashes could ruin them.
